THE WEB DEEPENS: JODIE’S NEXT DARK SECRET REVEALED TONIGHT!

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (26 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street airs Jodie Ramsey’s latest secret tonight, as she begins an ill-advised romance with shady Carl Webster. But the newcomer has already revealed her own manipulative side, so could Carl have finally met his match?

The pair were first acquainted during Friday’s episode, when Carl tried to charm Jodie as she worked in the café. While engaging in some light flirting, Jodie noticed Carl’s uncomfortable effect on the local residents.

Despite this, she decided to join him for a drink and made it clear that she was interested in meeting up again – much to Abi Webster’s horror.

In tonight’s episode, Abi calls in at the Platt house to warn Jodie against dating her villainous ex. She describes Carl as a “bad, bad seed”, but Jodie jokes that bad seeds are her type.

Shona explains how Abi left her husband for Carl, only to discover Carl was having an affair with James Bailey.

“Women often miss the warning signs ’cause we’re too busy getting charmed and flattered or whatever. But, well, I am the warning sign,” Abi adds.

Later, Carl enters Roy’s Rolls, hoping for another flirty chat with Jodie, but she bluntly shuts him down and he realises Abi has warned her off.

“I’ve had my fill of your type. Homewreckers with a sideline in two-timing,” Jodie tells the lothario. “Although, he is cute, that bloke at Number 3. I will give you that.”

However, it’s later revealed that Jodie was simply pretending to reject Carl as she becomes his next hotel room hook-up.

“I won’t get the third degree off my sister, this way. And it keeps your ex off our case,” she explains. “Anyway, isn’t this your speciality – keeping things under wraps? And we can have a lot more fun this way, too.”

Will Jodie regret playing with fire, or is Carl the one who could get burned?
