Goodbye, Ray Wise: Y&R Star Confirms He’s Leaving for Good

The reign of terror by Ian Ward on The Young and the Restless appears to be reaching its breaking point as he loses control over his chaotic partner-in-crime, Jordan. Spoilers and early 2025 previews suggest a high-stakes “villain vs. villain” exit that could finally rid Genoa City of both threats.

The Breakdown of a Deadly Alliance

Ian and Jordan’s partnership was built on a mutual bargain: Jordan would handle the “dirty work” of framing Phyllis and disposing of Sharon, while Ian would help Jordan achieve her revenge against Claire Newman. However, this alliance is rapidly crumbling:

  • Betrayal & Lies: Jordan has already gone rogue, lying to Ian about where she “dumped” Sharon’s body  While she told Ian the body was in the car, she actually stashed Sharon in a sewer to keep her as a psychological plaything.

  • Growing Suspicion: Ian is increasingly agitated because he hasn’t seen headlines confirming Sharon’s death  He needs this confirmation to move to the next phase of his plan: framing Phyllis Summers

  • Jordan’s Motivation: Unlike Ian, who prefers to manipulate others into doing his “grunt work” Jordan has no qualms about direct violence and has grown resentful that Ian isn’t fulfilling his end of their deal

A 2025 preview has confirmed two major confrontations that will likely lead to the characters’ exits:

  • Victor vs. Ian: A high-intensity encounter between the “Moustache” and his long-time rival

  • Nikki vs. Jordan: A final battle that will likely see Jordan outed for her recent crimes

The “Final Boss” Battle

Many believe the most likely outcome is that the two villains will simply eliminate each other. As Jordan continues to ignore Ian’s orders—specifically regarding the kidnapping of Phyllis —Ian may snap and attack her. Jordan, however, is notoriously “stabby” and has already proven she will fight anyone, man or woman, to survive

With Sharon currently hallucinating Cameron Kirsten in the very sewer where she killed him , and Nick Newman closing in on her location the walls are closing in on Ian Ward. Whether he dies at Jordan’s hand or is finally taken down by Victor Newman, his era of manipulation seems to be coming to a violent end.
