Coronation Street fans cry ‘what’ as they discover actress’ real age
They’ve only just discovered the real age of Summer Spellman actress Harriet Bibby

Coronation Street fans were left surprised as they only just discovered the real age of Summer Spellman actress Harriet Bibby.
The actress has been part of the long-running show since 2020, having been recast in the role of Summer, who first arrived on-screen in the ITV soap in 2017 when she was played by a different actress.
She is the adopted daughter of Billy’s old flame Drew Spellman, but when Summer lost the only parent she’d ever known in 2017 after Drew died from complications caused by cancer, his final wishes were for the then twelve-year-old to be placed in the guardianship of Billy Mayhew and his then-partner, Todd Grimshaw.
It was in 2020 that Harriet took on the recast role after the previous actress who played her, Matilda Freeman, decided to leave. She arrived alongside Todd, after they fled Weatherfield in 2017, with Gareth Pierce also recast in the role of Todd.
Now, the soap star is winning praise for her portrayal of Summer, who is facing grief once again following Billy’s tragic death, which comes just 18 months after the pasing of Billy’s husband, Paul Foreman, who became one of Summer’s ‘three dads’ alongside Billy and Todd.

But it was actually Harriet’s age that took fans by surprise. @CHARITYDALES said: “I’m sure this is a widely known thing by corrie fans but Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman) is TWENTY SEVEN?!!!?! WHAAAAAT.” @swainstemult replied: “Whaaaat i literally thought she was like 20.”
